Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here w family whilst n town and it was great to see the culinary traditions of Germany and Austria in full swing here. We had the pleasure of being back n Germany this past year visiting friends and our little village we used to live in for a few years, and the offerings here really took me back to our home away from home. I’m a huge fan of veal schnitzel and very much enjoyed their take on this dish. The sides all are prepared with their own version of seasonings, etc and thus it was nice not to have usual stock offerings u find at other joints. The bier selection here also had some of my favorite jefe’s and that was an added bonus. Service was wonderful, and reservations are recommended during busier holiday months when the town is packed w river visitors. Prost!!!

Lovely atmosphere with German music. Waitress, Karen was wonderful answered all our questions. Hubby got the mushroom soup, bratwurst flatter with potato salad and sauerkraut. I got the house salad and Jager schnitzel platter with red cabbage and schnitzel.

Sauerbraten and Jagerschnitzel are a must. Both were tender and savory while the Spaetzle was sweet and tangy. Cherry Strudel was sweet and a nice treat to end the night. The beers and wines are all German, by far the most authentic German restaurant I have even dined at. I would give more than 5 stars but Google will not let me. The owner visited me for a few minutes and you could tell he puts every ounce of energy and passion into every plate.

We haven’t been to Alpine Haus in a while since we moved to Florida so we were happy to make a trip to New Braunfels to eat lunch there. We lived in Germany for 8 years over 2 military assignments so we miss the food. Alpine Haus is pretty close to the food there which is why it was our favorite place to eat German food. The restaurant is in an old historic building which adds to the experience. The service was friendly and first class. We had the Jaeger and Rahm schnitzels with spatzle, blue cabbage, sauerkraut, salad and mushroom soup. All were very tasty and the portions were big. We definitely recommend it if you like German food.

Good German food. Have lived in the Hill Country off and on for over 30 years. Finding good German food has become challenging in recent years. Alpine Haus hit the mark. We had 2 entrees. Jaeger Schnitzel with potato salad and red cabbage and Schnitzel Cordon Bleu with potato salad and sauerkraut. Entrees come with soup or salad. My onion soup was delicious and her salad had dressing that took us back to Bayern 30 years ago. Service was very good! Quick refills and multiple check ins to make sure we were okay. Atmosphere is nice in a historic pioneer home. Highly recommend!

The BESTTT!!! We tried the sample platter, and a little bit of everything, and it was amazing! The service was spectacular Sarah was great! The food came out hot and smelling great! The fried Brie… a dream. I honestly want to come back even though I live nowhere near. I honestly have high standards for food, and this place meets them. Also not to mention the decor and the ambiance was super transporting. 10/10

We were so excited to visit Alpine Haus, and it did not disappoint. This cute German restaurant is set in an adorable historic house with a wonderful, cozy atmosphere. It’s a great place to go with friends or family because it’s easy to carry on a conversation without feeling overwhelmed by noise. We visited on a Saturday night and really enjoyed the accordion player — such a lovely, authentic touch that added to the experience. My husband and I shared the sausage platter with sauerkraut, and it was absolutely amazing. Overall, Alpine Haus offers a fantastic atmosphere and a delicious meal. We’ll definitely be back.

The food was amazing, but the service was even better. Our waitress, Sarah, was the best server we've had in all of Texas! She checked on the ingredients of several dishes for me, and made amazing recommendations for what to eat. The Fried Brie Cheese, dressed in toasted almonds and fried, was one of our delicious appetizers. The Rinder Goulash was also fantastic.

Heard about the excellent German food for years, finally made reservations for a special occasion and boy were we delighted. My wife grew up in Germany as a child, she noted this restaurant felt and looked exactly how she remembers as a child in Germany. The service was good,, the food was even better. A basket of sliced marbled rye (I think) was brought out with butter for our table, I ordered a ruben sandwich and it was most likely the best one I've ever had. The wife and my some both had schnitzel, red cabbage and one had German potato salad, the other fried potatoes. They both loved their food as well. If you've heard the rumors and the hype about the best German food in town, I will let you know.... It's TRUE. NOBODY can even come close to this locally. Do yourself a favor if you enjoy German food... MAKE A RESERVATION AND GO.!!!! 👍👍

Sarah was an outstanding server, attentive and friendly. We had the jagerschnitzel and the saurbratten along with a pretzel appetizer and dessert. They did not have the apple strudel so we opted for the one that wasn't the black forest cake and it was delicious! This was or first time here and we loved it!!
